It can be used to synthesise N-butyl-N-methylmorpholinium bromide through the reaction with bromobutane. It can also be used in the manufacturing of foams, adhesive, and elastomers, as a crosslinker. 4-Methylmorpholine is often used in dyes, resins, and pharmaceutical products as a solvent. It has applications as a corrosion inhibitor and anti-scaling agent.

4-Methylmorpholine can be used in the manufacturing of anti-inflammatory drugs by synthesising TYK2 inhibitors and cathespin K inhibitors.
