27th March 2020
Following on from our update last week, we have now implemented the next stage of our Business Continuity Plan following the updated advice from the UK government. As of 24th March, all of Apollo’s office based staff are now working remotely and our Bredbury site has been closed until further notice. We anticipate this being the case for a minimum of the next three weeks. Our laboratory and warehouse remains open at present however is operating with a skeleton staff in order to ensure the safety of our colleagues by providing them with a safe working environment from a social distancing perspective. More stringent PPE rules are being followed on site and additional distancing procedures are being adopted. We have taken the decision to keep these functions operational at a minimum level due to our position as a supplier to the key pharmaceutical market, having already supplied compounds to clients for projects directly linked to the fight against COVID-19. We will continue to operate these “on site” functions only whilst it remains safe to do so and will continue to review this daily following government advice.
Our sales service is still operating at usual levels however, as our office is closed, we would request people do not ring our main switchboard but use their Account Managers direct dial number, send an email or speak to us on the website chat service should you require any information (www.apolloscientific.co.uk). We are still able to receive shipments and will advise suppliers immediately should this situation change. Likewise, orders are still being dispatched albeit some afternoon orders may ship next day, as opposed to same day, whilst we implement this scaled back service.
We apologise for any delays in order shipments during this period but trust you understand that the safety of our colleagues, families and the wider community remains of paramount importance to us and is our primary consideration at this time. Should you have any concerns then please do get in touch with us directly so we can advise further.
Thank you for your continued business and support. We are proud to have a large international partner base and we wish you, your families and communities all the very best during this troubling time.
Stay safe and very best wishes,
